Where We Bring Value

Edison brings a lean-based flexible process which is focused on the low/niche volume custom manufacturing environment. Our objective is to provide our customer with the right level of quality for the application with the fastest timing and most competitive cost.

How do we accomplish these desired outcomes?

  • Our approach is entirely product centric.
  • Instead of a “standard” phase-gate process, we apply a lean milestone framework with integration events.
  • Our team thrives in high change environments.
  • We don’t have clients, we have partners.

WHERE WE BRING VALUE TO  PARTNERSHIPS

Edison applies a flexible, lean-based production process optimized for low—and medium-volume assembly. We also implement a product-centric approach to quality, which is based on the APQP process. This agile, attentive methodology enables us to meet the unique needs of each specific product or application at hand. Our customers benefit from reliable production delivery and quality, with quick time to market and low capital expenditures.

How do we accomplish these desired outcomes?

  • We build on top of a proven automotive foundation.
  • We have experience executing the production of tens of millions of simple automotive components annually, as well as low-volume assembly of the most complex vehicles and systems on the market.
  • We thrive in high-change environments.
  • We have intentionally built Edison from the ground up to serve this market in the best possible way.
  • We’re intensely customer-focused.
  • We’re committed to delivering in a way that aligns with our values.

Connected Autonomous Vehicles, Electric Vehicles and Sub-Assembly Production

Our team has been involved with countless AV/CAV and EV vehicle (both on-road and off-road) programs. From supplier sourcing to high voltage battery assembly, installation or cooling loop modification for lidar and radar assemblies, we’ve likely done it.

These products require exceptional quality, unparalleled speed to market and a cost structure which doesn’t require building a facility to support a pilot or low volume fleet build. This is where our expertise is most noteworthy and why today we work extensively in these markets.

Edison exceeded our expectations as our partner for autonomous vehicle assembly and integration. Our program was completed on time, under cost, and the quality of Edison’s work was unquestionable. Edison was both proactive and responsive throughout the course of our program, helping us negotiate several challenges, fostering a strong partnership rather than vendor-client relationship. We would not hesitate to work with Edison in the future.

Niche Automotive Applications

Edison continuously works to support low-volume and/or service-volume assembly, particularly for performance variants and aftermarket solutions.

Examples of work in this area include propulsion system component and system assembly, off-road part assembly and kitting, and other complex mechanical and electromechanical assembly.

We thrive in helping to manufacture parts that benefit from OE quality and/or automotive-grade quality, as well as with parts that are integrated into traditional automotive OEMs.

We're also the ideal partner to help companies who are launching other types of mobility products, including off-road vehicles, specialty vehicles, and more.

Electrification

Edison supports bespoke component and sub-assembly builds, vehicle builds, upfits, and retrofits. Application capabilities cover areas like battery electric, fuel cell electric, and hybrids.

Edison also helps with the assembly of complex products for charging infrastructure, including chargers, energy conversion, mobile energy storage, and stationary energy storage.

Applications including commercial vehicles, work trucks, construction, mining, agriculture, niche automotive, marine, recreational vehicles, aerospace.

Entrants into New Markets

We help companies seamlessly enter new regions, product types, and technology areas - particularly when these fall outside the volumes and manufacturing processes that make up their core product offerings.

This requires a strong production foundation and the ability to intelligently right-size processes and procedures to meet the needs of the product at-hand.

We're the go-to part for companies looking for a trusted domestic assembly partner to build and deliver products in the US.

Autonomous Vehicles

Capabilities include base vehicle production and assembly, hardware integration, upfits, retrofits, and more.

Some applications in this area include last-mile delivery, middle mile logistics, long haul trucks, forklifts, warehouse robotics, yard trucks, shuttles, mining, construction, agriculture, and sidewalk robotics.

Other Complex Products

We're known for our ability to assemble and integrate complex products. We can help with unique applications across various industries. This includes solutions for sectors like medical, defense, industrial automation, robotics, micromobility, test equipment, and more.

OUR APPROACH TO CONTRACT MANUFACTURING

We’re product-agnostic. Our approach to contract manufacturing isn’t optimized for a specific product or market. We provide disproportionate value wherever there’s an electromechanical product that benefits from flexible and capital-efficient production and requires tight quality control. This is particularly true when it’s valuable to work with a trusted production partner who you can trust will be alongside you as roadblocks are encountered.

Our value isn’t about the product we’re solving. It’s about Edison's ability to apply a robust foundation, built on high-volume automotive experience and low-volume complex assembly expertise, to the specific needs of a product that doesn’t fit within the bounds of traditional high-volume production.
